Science Fiction Book Covers

30 of the Most Beautiful Sci-Fi Book Covers Ever Made – Flavorwire

Science fiction cover art has a bad reputation. Not without reason: much of it is pulpy, overly brash, or just plain scary — it’s kind of the name of the game. Yet there are also plenty of science fiction novels and collections that buck the trend and manage to be not only palatable to those that (for instance) love the insides but hate that naked green woman on the cover, but downright gorgeous. After the jump, a selection of some of the best, from vintage paperbacks to new and shiny hardcovers. Don’t see your favorite here? Do everyone a favor and add it to the list in the comments.

What's good and what's bad about that tattoo

2009-06-05 09:21:28 by Frog_Barf

What's good:It's BIG and it makes a real statement. The overall design is in harmony with the body shape & contoursWhat's badThe draughtsmanship (drawing) is mediocre. It's as though whoever drew up the design didn't bother to familiarize himself with classical dragon designs. Perhaps all he had in his head were crappy ones off science fiction book covers. The head is particularly bad. I suspect the artist simply doesn't draw very well. The shading is rudimentary. It's neither a strict black-and-white design, nor is it artfully shaded.

I'm glad "the book does cover themes in the book

I know you mean the movie covers themes in the book. And I did read and understand the book, thank you.
What I said was the movie had ALMOST nothing to do with the book. I think Spielberg even borrowed the 3 laws of robotics for AI not to mention many others who have borrowed this theme.
It's just a bad action movie.
I can think of some great, great movies which were translated from books which rarely are criticized:
Gone With The Wind
Slauterhouse Five (also science fiction)
The Godfather
The Shining
Lawrence of Arabia (from the sevn pillars of wisdom)
All of these certainly have the sensational aspects that all successful movies need, but that doesn't mean they don't give you something to think about

No: it's w-a-a-a-y beyond mere stupid

I'd say this insane proposal is ignorant, delusional, hallucinatory, disconnected from reality, and (here it comes) is almost certainly a troll.
There are just too many objections (as pointed out in other replies) for this to be intended as a serious question.
If it isn't a troll, then the OP wins some kind of booby prize for confusing science fiction with reality. Perhaps the streamlined shape of a submarine resonated with all those book covers showing streamlined space ships whizzing about the universe.
