David Feherty Tiger Woods

After another disappointing weekend on one of the game's biggest stages, world No. 1 Tiger Woods is again forced to face questions about his majorless drought, which has now stretched to 17 starts. According to CBS and Golf Channel analyst David Feherty, though, it's only a matter of time before Woods is once again hoisting a 15th career major trophy.
"The next one that he wins is going to be the most important one of his career, and I think he will win it, " Feherty explained Monday on the "Dan Patrick Show." "If you look at his comeback, it's been very gradual."
Though Woods still has not won a major since the 2008 U.S. Open, he has come close several times; Sunday's tie for sixth at Muirfield was his ninth top-six finish in a major since 2009. While questions abound regarding Woods' strategy over the weekend and what might be the missing ingredient required to win again, Feherty remains convinced that when discussing Woods' next major triumph, it's not "if, " but "when."
"I think the only mistake you can make with Tiger Woods is to doubt him, " he added.
With Phil Mickelson rising to No. 2 in the world after his fifth career major title Sunday in Scotland, Feherty was asked who has more majors left to win between the 37-year-old Woods and the 43-year-old Mickelson.
"That's a really good question, but I'd have to say Tiger, " said Feherty. "It wouldn't surprise me to see both of these guys compete in majors until they're 50, or maybe even a little older."

A thought on Tiger Woods philandering...
2009-12-04 09:57:15 by K_nineHere's a newspaper item from a few years ago about politics in the PGA and "ugly American" golfers. Despite all the talk about Tiger Woods being a role model, he's always leaned towards the traditional "republican guard" of the PGA, even despite morons like Fuzzy Zoeller. The item also mentions Jesper Parnevik, the man who introduced Tiger Woods to Woods's soon-to-be ex-wife.
I won't claim prescience after the fact, but it really shouldn't surprise that Woods was caught with his pants down (and his wife sticking his putter where the sun don't shine...). It also explains a little about European golfers and why you don't hear them talking religion or politics, and why they're considered more approachable for the public
